Interactive products have a big impact on the future of media (use). To handle this responsibility, we, as interaction designers, must be able to create a vision of the future substantiated by theory, philosophy and research.
In this course, you will learn to critically assess the role of media in society (impact on world views, social relations et cetera). You will learn to interpret and critically assess the development of media and to conceptualize future products/services from this perspective.
Each week features in-depth reading, assignments and discussion. Examples of topics are technology and society, reality and representation, play and games and read-write culture.
